On Tuesday, BBC hosts Dan Walker and Sally Nugent were back on the red sofa to bring viewers the latest news headlines. However, as they introduced the weather segment, Sally aired her concerns for meteorologist Carol Kirkwood after she took a fall during Monday’s programme. Dan also took the opportunity to apologise to the weather presenter as he admitted to laughing when the mishap happened.
“It is quarter past six,” Sally began. “And we really need to check on Carol because we had an eventful morning yesterday, didn’t we, Carol?”
“Are you alright?” the host continued. “Flash the dog was a bit cheeky with you.”
“Can I also apologise for laughing,” Dan chipped in while laughing.
“And not checking on your welfare immediately, I am sorry about that.”

Reassuring her co-stars, Carol replied: “No apology needed, Dan. Both myself and Flash are absolutely fine.”
During Monday’s weather segment, poor Carol was left red-faced after suffering a fall live on air.
The BBC host was dragged to the floor by a guide dog.
The 59-year-old weather presenter had given her forecast from Chelsea when the Golden Labrador ran off-screen with Carol still holding the lead, dragging her to the floor.
“We’ve got a Kirkwood down, we’ve got a Kirkwood down, someone save Carol,” Dan exclaimed as he watched from the studio.
The host was left in stitches as Carol’s legs and feet were the only things that could be seen on the screen.
After she got up from the floor, Carol simply replied: “Flash is strong.”
After he had finished laughing, Dan asked: “Are you alright, Carol?”
