Defiant Shard climber George King says sorry and admits he got told off by mum

Defiant Shard climber George King has issued a public apology for his daredevil stunt and revealed he got told off by his mum.

The daredevil teenager, 19, risked his life by scaling the London skyscraper on Monday without using ropes or a harness.

He reached the top, but was later confronted by police over the unauthorised free climb.

In his first TV interview since the stunt, George said sorry for all the disruption he caused and said his mum was very cross with him.

She's even banned him taking part in any similar stunts ever again.

George explained: "My mum as you can imagine [was very angry] – it didn't come as a surprise to her…

"She knew something was up – one month to got I was in zone, but she didn't know [exactly what I was planning].

"She found out on the radio. She was very happy that I'm ok but at the same time she said: 'Don't do it again'."

George added an apology to Londoners and the emergency services, saying: "Of course I take full responsibility and will publicly apologise if I disrupted anyone's commute.
