Doc Martin – four BIG moments from tonight's episode including a 'stabbing' AND a shooting in Port Wenn

THERE was more drama and mishaps for the grumpy Doc Martin on this evening's show.

We take you through all the big moments from episode five and what you can expect next week.

Four big moments from episode five of Doc Martin

1) There was a shooting in Port Wenn

Hollywood actor Danny Huston guest starred in this episode as Robert Brooke, a victim of a shooting in Portwenn – well sort of.

Local farmer Dennis Thorpe (Keith Bartlett) shot Robert in the leg after he took some of his eggs, which he thought he was stealing.

Loving the fact a "shooting" had happened on his patch, PC Penhale (John Marquez) jumped straight to attention summoning the Doc (Martin Clunes).

Robert then become quite the local celbrity as news soared round the village of a "shooting".

However, as ever with Doc Martin, all was not what it seemed with Robert, and after Martin took him back to the surgery to give him some stitches, he uncovered some worrying symptoms and it was revealed he had sepsis after camping in the woods.

2) Al and Bert got a new boss

Following Ken’s death in episode four, the Crab and Lobster pub was put up for sale, which left Al (Joe Absolom) and Bert (Ian McNeice) in turmoil.

They couldn't afford to buy it, and Ruth (Eileen Atkins) had no interest in another deal with them, especially after their previous failed business ventures.

However the new secret owner turned out to be local convenience shop owner Caitlin Morgan (Angela Curran).

We can't wait to see how this works out – as she is set to be Al and Bert's new boss.

3) Louisa put the moves on the Doc

Louisa (Caroline Catz) and the Doc are trying for another baby but are having a few fertility issues.

On the latest episode Louisa was starting to feel more like Martin’s patient than his wife in their quest for another child.

However, Louisa suggested they spice things up in the bedroom and conceive the "natural way."

Putting the moves on the Doc, Louisa attempted to seduce prudish Martin – and it worked.

Well done Louisa.

4) Louisa got stabbed (sort of)

Worrying that James may have the same bad social skills as his awkward father the Doc, Louisa arranged a playdate with her young son James and new resident Julia Pote’s (Olivia Poulet) boy.

At first things seem to go well until Julia started to have an allergic reaction to some banana bread.

Trying to be helpful, nursery teacher Mel (Rosie Ede) accidentally stabbed Louisa instead with an adrenaline pen, with a hilarious outcome.

When the Doc came to the rescue, it was like Louisa had taken a truth pill and started giving her husband a few home truths.

What will happen next week on Doc Martin?

Doc Martin returns to our screens NEXT TUESDAY (October 29, 2019) with episode six.

At the end of episode five it gave us a sneak peek to next week's episode where it is judgement day over the Doc's license because of his blood phobia.

Fans will be keen to know if he will keep his practice or be forced to leave Port Wenn.

Viewers will also see how Bert and Al got on under new management
