Eamonn Holmes giggles through This Morning segment to ‘calm’ coronavirus stress
It seems ITV are keen to keep everyone stress free during the coronavirus health crisis, even bringing in celebrity hypnotist Paul McKenna to This Morning to give some top tips on how to calm down.
He shared his advice with Friday hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford, but Eamonn couldn't keep a straight face and ended up laughing his way through it.
Paul introduced the married hosting duo to a technique called "havening", which involves folding your arms across your chest and stroking yourself – yes, seriously.
Ruth and Eamonn got stuck in on the demo, with Eamonn raising an eyebrow in uncertainty as Paul explained the supposed benefits.
The Irish host asked: "Can you touch other people?"
And Paul said that yes, you could, however ever-wise Ruth quickly pointed out: "No! Social distancing."
As the segment went on, Eamonn began chuckling to himself rather than finding himself in a place of calm.
The 60-year-old giggled as Paul spoke, with him telling the This Morning guest: "It certainly makes you feel better."
Paul advised that those who wanted to try it out should imagine themselves in a relaxing situation, such as walking along a beach on a warm summers day.
He said to count to 20 as you imagined taking each foot step, stroking your arms as you went.
Ruth was back on This Morning today after she was forced to drop out of hosting duties last Friday.
Eamonn confirmed before last week's Friday episode that Ruth had taken ill and would be replaced by Rochelle Humes.
This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
