EastEnders spoilers: Whitney to return with Lee Carter in ultimate Leo King showdown?

EastEnders viewers were on the edge of their seats this evening as they waited to find out the fate of Whitney Dean after she finally worked out Leo King’s motives for being in the Square. Tonight, she managed to keep out of his clutches but will she look to a former flame to help get revenge as Leo only looks set to get more out of control?

Tuesday night’s episode saw Whitney whisked off out of Walford by smooth talking Leo as the pair went into central London for a romantic night away.

However, things didn’t turn as planned as Tiffany Butcher (Maisie Smith) finally found out from mum Bianca (Patsy Palmer) the reason she had warned her to stay away from Leo King (Tom Wells) back in the summer.

A frantic Tiffany teamed up with Whitney’s ex-fiancé Callum Highway (Tony Clay) as they phoned Whitney and demanded she left the hotel as they exposed Leo’s true identity.

Tonight, viewers found out whether Leo had caused any harm to Whitney as the previous instalment ended with him seemingly trapping her in the hotel room as she tried to escape.

As he quizzed her on her phone call, Whitney revealed what she had learned and demanded answers from her new boyfriend.

“You knew who I was right from the start, you followed me, you got to know me for months you spoke to Tiff at the wedding, you followed me to Turkey… he [Tony] never said he had a son.

An angry Leo hit back telling her: “It doesn’t matter what he said.”

Whitney asked him whether the purpose of his move to Walford was for “revenge” but he simply stated that he wanted “the truth” from his lover.

Viewers saw Leo arrive in the Square earlier this year and it didn’t take him long before he caused trouble and had an intense showdown with Bianca where she warned him to stay away from her daughters.

Leo’s dad is Tony King (Chris Coghill) who abused Whitney as a teenager and was convicted of his crimes.

He later killed himself whilst he was in prison and Leo has been since convinced that his dad is not guilty as tonight he tried to get Whitney to confess the truth.

Leo ask Whitney why he applied for a right to go and visit his late father whilst he was in prison as she insisted she did not know.

He angrily replied: “I think you do, you felt guilty for lying, you wanted to apologise, you and my dad you had a relationship illegal yeah fine, she [Bianca] invented this whole story to get revenge on a guy that didn’t love her anymore, she bullied you.”

Whitney told Leo everything he didn’t want to hear this evening as she confessed the abuse she suffered at the hands of Leo’s father and the affect it has had on her relationships since.

“He abused me for four years, he manipulated me, Bianca didn’t do anything,” she confessed.

Leo hit back and insisted she was not telling the truth: “You lied in court, you felt guilty because you stitched him up, I don’t have a father because of you.”

However, Whitney didn’t stop there: “Ten years of ruining every relationship I’ve had, of trying to find out the truth, why would I lie about something like that, it has killed me to get to a point where I say I was abused and it was not my fault.”

Leo appeared to finally realise he might in fact be in the wrong but as he has now shown his violent side and real motives for being in Walford, could Whitney look to get revenge with the help of an old lover?

As Tiffany and Callum arrived at the hotel to save Whitney from the hands of evil Leo, she appeared to shun their help.

They burst into her hotel room with Callum asking: “Are you sure you’re okay, do you want us to call the police?”

“No it’s over now, do you know what? I think I’ll be alright on my own,” she told them both.
