EastEnders star Kellie Bright reveals surprise first scene she filmed on soap
EastEnders star Kellie Bright has revealed which iconic scene was the first that she filmed as Linda Carter on the BBC One soap.
Linda first showed up in Walford with husband Mick (Danny Dyer) on Boxing Day 2013, and the episode which succeeded this one saw the character attempt to acquire some wifi in order to speak to son, Lee (Danny Hatchard).
Speaking about the scene in question during tonight’s edition of Secrets From The Square, actress Kellie revealed that this was, in fact, the very first scene she filmed as the landlady on set.
She told Stacey Dooley: ‘These were the first words I ever did speak on the EastEnders set!
‘I can tell, is all I can say! Watching it now, I can tell.
‘You want to sort of go back and go “It’s all right. Just relax. It’s okay.”
‘You can’t fast-forward through that time, you just can’t.’
The scene saw Linda meet with Sharon (Letitia Dean) for the very first time, and the pair initially clashed, before becoming the best of friends.
Prior to her arrival on Albert Square, Linda briefly appeared in her mum’s pub in Watford, when Shirley (Linda Henry) and Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) paid her a visit.
However, Kellie first appeared in EastEnders back in 1986, during George ‘Lofty’ Holloway (Tom Watt) and Michelle Fowler’s (Susan Tully) wedding.
The actress revealed in her previous STFS episode: ‘In ’86, I was at Lofty and Michelle’s wedding.
‘I was an extra — as we called ourselves extras in those days. I was a supporting artist.

‘I had to come in late to the church, and my mum had to walk me up the aisle because I wanted to go to the loo or something.’
‘The only shot of me that you saw was the back of my head, I think. You just see my long blond hair, I was wearing a peach dress. I remember it very well.’
