Emma Willis ‘overwhelmed’ by response to ‘normal’ Ace snap after blocking trolls

Good Morning Britain presenters Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins spoke to The Voice presenter Emma Willis on Friday's show.

Emma, 44, told the pair that the "block button" had come in handy after she shared a picture of her son Ace, 8, in a pink top and with long blond hair.

The presenter admitted she had been overwhelmed by the response from fans over the snap, which garnered a huge reaction on social media.

She said: "I was really overwhelmed actually because it's just my son in a pink top and for me that is normality.

"He loves colour, he's always had long hair. He's a very free and open-minded boy who doesn't really, well, he's like 'why do I have to dress in green, blue or grey if I like pink, red, purple?'

"I've tried to raise him as a very open-minded young boy."

Emma added: "There were a couple of negative bits, but the block button is a great thing."

The mum-of-three had shared the picture on Instagram last weekend, hiding her son's face from the picture as fans praised him for "breaking gender stereotypes".

Emma's husband Matt could be seen in the background looking at his phone as she captioned the snap: "My little style icon. (Ace, not Matt )."

The TV presenter was soon inundated with praise from her followers, as one said: "So what if this boy has beautiful long blonde hair and wears a pink T-shirt! Jesus! I bet he smiles a million more times a day than you miserable judgey ADULTS commenting on this child! #getalife."

Another added: "Your son is an inspiration. Coming from a mummy of a son who loves pink, rainbows and his Elsa dress. He is following his own story and not bound by stupid society stereotypes."

A third chipped in: "Just shows how far we have to go in breaking down gender stereotypes. Pink is simply a colour. Hair grows. Let kids (or adults) wear whatever they want!"

Emma's friend Fearne Cotton also got in on the action as she added: "I miss Ace! When is he making me that dress?"

GMB continues on Monday at 6am on ITV.
