Fans of Emmerdale were left rather confused on Friday night after Marcus Dean quickly became the new village electrian but many wondered who took on the role before he became a resident.
Marcus was booked and busy during the latest episode of the long-running soap and was summoned to fix the electricals in the cafe by Jimmy King.
But fans were left perplexed with the fact that he had been recruited for the job all of sudden and questioned how the villagers previously coped without him.
Taking to Twitter, one fan said: "How convenient and not at all weird that they have Marcus, the electrician, show up just when everyone’s electrics are on the fritz #Emmerdale he should have came at Xmas and helped Al with his whisk bomb micro time."
Another said: "Is Marcus going to come to the rescue every time there's an electrical fault in the village. Who the heck did they use before he showed up?"
A third chimed: "What did the residents of #emmerdale do about electric issues before Marcus appeared."
