Emmerdale spoilers: Jacob Gallagher discovers crushing news on return to village
Jacob (played by Joe-Warren Plant) flew to Portugal to spend some time with Alicia Gallagher (Natalie Anderson).
His return comes as Maya Stepney’s (Louisa Clein) fate is still unclear on Emmerdale.
Her abuse of the boy was discovered by Leyla Harding (Roxy Shahidi), Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) and Priya Sharma (Fiona Wade) during the dramatic big night out episodes on the ITV soap.
However Maya has not been seen since and what happened that night remains a mystery after the trio confronted her in the woods.
As a result, whether she is dead or alive is yet to be determined.
Tonight’s instalment of the programme sees Jacob back in the dales where he will see his biological mum Leyla.
It’s the first time the pair will come face to face since Leyla discovered what sick Maya had been doing with her son.
But Jacob doesn’t know what’s gone on and he’s expecting to see the manipulative schoolteacher.
David Metcalfe (Matthew Wolfenden) is under the impression that she left because she saw him kissing ex Tracy.
Jacob is confused and upset as he believed he and Maya had a genuine relationship.
Leyla will soon realise that she must come clean to Jacob to spare him anymore hurt.
The truth about Maya’s fate is set to be revealed later this week in flashbacks as Leyla tells Jacob what happened that night.
Is Maya alive or dead? And if she’s alive, will Jacob try and track her down?
Maya certainly had her claws in the youngster as she’d been grooming him for months.
She’d been doing it under David’s roof but he did not suspect what was going on.
But with David still none the wiser it may fall to someone else to tell him the horrible truth.
This evening’s instalment will also explore the other storylines that kicked off on the night out.
Ellis Chapman (Asan N’Jie) is set to confront his brother Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) over the night he was stabbed.
Meanwhile, Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) realises Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins) hasn’t been herself since that night.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
