Four of Diamonds rule out X Factor return as they weigh in on ITV aftercare row – EXCLUSIVE

Four of Diamonds probably isn't a name you immediately associate with The X Factor — but that may all be about to change.

Since finishing in eighth place on the ITV talent show in 2016, Caroline Alvares, 22, Lauren Rammell, 24, Sophia Saffarian, 22, and Yasmin Broom, 19, have gone from strength to strength.

Where many acts from Simon Cowell's music juggernaut rush release tracks, only to find themselves quickly burning out, Four of Diamonds went away and worked hard on a cool, sleek catalogue — including latest single Walk Away.

But with their newly extended fanbase and a steadily growing collection of hits, don't expect to see the foursome return to the talent show for the upcoming All Stars series.

Speaking exclusively to OK! online, Sophia said: "It would be so flattering to be asked to go back on it but we're focusing on our music now and releasing our own singles and performing our own stuff.

"It'll be great to watch but I don't think we'll be taking part. It's a great experience so whoever goes on it will have the best time ever. We're just focusing on our own stuff."

But she insists there are no hard feelings towards the show, gushing: "It was incredible and it opened up so many doors for us and lead us to where we are now so we're really grateful for that. It's an absolute rollercoaster ride."

ITV have come under fire for their aftercare systems of late, following the deaths of two Love Island contestants and The Jeremy Kyle Show being permanently cancelled after a guest died in a suspected suicide shortly after an appearance on the controversial hit show.

However, Sophia has defended the network, making it clear that the group had no trouble following their appearance on The X Factor."They really looked after us, we've never experienced anything negative on that side," she explained.

"We had Jane, she was our welfare person and she was amazing. She got us anything we needed. Lauren is a fussy eater and she made sure she always got food and wasn't losing too much weight."

Sophia's chat with OK! online comes at the end of an arena tour supporting Rita Ora, where the group wowed crowds up and down the country with their urban-tinged pop songs. Discussing the tour, Sophia said: "It's been amazing, it's so surreal. We've done arenas before on the X Factor tour, but to be performing our own songs is just a whole different ball game for us.

"We've loosened up a bit, our performance skills have got better, we can enjoy it this time around. It's an amazing experience, we're so grateful to Rita for having us on tour with her."

Four of Diamonds play a headline show at London's Borderline on 17 July. Their new single Walk Away is available now.
