Frozen 2 streaming: Can I watch full movie online? Is it legal?

Frozen was a real favourite with fans – especially young ones – and has sent cinema ticket sales skyrocketing since its release. However, many parents may be concerned about getting their children to the cinema, and whether there is enough popcorn in the world to keep them still for a whole film. For some, sitting on the sofa at home with a film on your small screen is the perfect way to enjoy a new movie – but can you stream or download Frozen 2?

Can I watch Frozen 2 online?

Frozen 2 is only just in the cinemas and, as it does not have any distributor deals which would make it able to download simultaneously, the answer is no.

Any website claiming to have the film for streaming or download is illegal.

The Digital Economy Act 2017 means people could now face ten-year prison sentences for illegally streaming copyrighted content.

To be sure you’re not watching copyrighted material, you should go direct to companies such as Netflix or Amazon Prime, according to FACT (Federation Against Copyright Theft).

Frozen fans sadly can not watch the new instalment via any streaming platform or download.

However, those who are hoping to watch it at the cinema will be able to in a variety of ways, meaning children of all ages can be catered to.

For example, many cinemas have “Parent and Baby” screenings, meaning parents can bring their very young children into screenings where they do not have to worry about making too much noise.

In these screenings, the lights are often brighter and the sound is often quieter, so parents have a far more relaxing cinematic experience.

As well as this, many cinemas will allow parents with a baby under 12 months to also bring older children with them, provided the film is a U or PG certificate, meaning parents with a baby and toddlers or other young children can bring all of their family along to these events.

Many cinemas also offer special ‘Kids Clubs’ which will offer special snacks designed for children, sometimes even activities to help occupy restless children, as well as lower ticket prices for the whole family.

Some cinemas even offer lower prices for children and parents in the mornings, meaning the kids can see their favourite film first thing before enjoying the rest of the day together.

Finally, family tickets are often available in cinemas, meaning its far cheaper for everyone to go together, which also helps the popcorn fund be a little higher.

Parents hoping to use any of these types of facilities should check information either at their local cinema or on the cinema’s website.

  • Frozen 2 reviews: What are critics and fans saying about Frozen 2?

What is the age rating for Frozen 2?

Frozen 2 has been given a U certificate by the BBFC (British Board of Film Classification) and is said to contain “mild threat, very mild violence, rude humour.”

The BBFC also gives information on what the U classification means, meaning parents can work out whether their children may find some things upsetting.

The BBFC states: “A U film should be suitable for audiences aged four years and over, although it is impossible to predict what might upset any particular child.

“U films should be set within a positive framework and should offer reassuring counterbalances to any violence, threat or horror.”

Frozen 2 has not been cleared as particularly suitable for pre-school children, so this may be worth taking into consideration as well.

In the BBFC guidelines, certain scenes are outlined as being of potential upset to children, so parents who are concerned for their children should check on the BBFC website for further details.

However, those who are particularly worried are advised to consider watching the film before their children, to be prepared for any moment which might upset them.
