Game of Thrones: What did Seth Rogen say about Game of Thrones at Comic-Con?

Seth Rogen recently added to the backlash Game of Thrones has faced following its final season at San Diego Comic-Con. Speaking on the panel for Preacher, Rogen made a handful of comments aimed at GOT creators DB Weiss and David Benioff after they pulled out of the Game of Thrones Q&A at the same event. Here’s what Rogen said about Game of Thrones and the reaction his comments have had.

What did Seth Rogen say about Game of Thrones at Comic-Con?

Seth Rogen criticised Game of Thrones creators DB Weiss and David Benioff at Comic-Con.

The Game of Thrones cast took part in a panel which finished shortly before Preacher’s began.

In the opening few minutes of the Preacher panel, Rogen addressed Weiss and Benioff’s absence at the event.

Rogen said: “I do just want to start by saying I know we’re following the Game of Thrones panel,”

WILL THERE BE AN ARYA STARK GAME OF THRONES SPIN-OFF SERIES?

The actor continued: “Which is a f****** nightmare, just objectively.

“I also know that their showrunners didn’t show up because they didn’t want to answer questions about the show.

“So I just want to to say that, I’m not one of the creators of Game of Thrones, but I am the creator of other TV shows,

“So feel free to ask me any Game of Thrones questions you might have throughout the night.

“I’m not an expert, I haven’t read the books but I’ve watched the show so I can give you my insights and thoughts.”

WHAT IS WEST OF WESTEROS IN GAME OF THRONES?

When asked which series finale would be more satisfying, Preacher’s or Game of Thrones’, Rogen appeared to have another dig at the GOT writers.

Rogen responded: “I’m here at least so I think that’s a good sign! I’m willing to show my face.”

The Game of Thrones criticism didn’t stop there from the 37-year-old actor.

As the Comic-Con panel progressed, Rogen was asked if he knew the upcoming season of Preacher would the last in the series.

Rogen responded: “I did, yes. We wanted to know going in that there was a world where we could’ve maybe extended it longer,

“But to us, it felt like having a show where every episode was really propelling the story forward and moving towards a final conclusion in a very definitive and thought out way, that was hopefully fast-paced and satisfying. You know, like a TV show!”

WHAT DID MISSANDEI’S FINAL WORDS MEAN?

The comments made by Rogen are the latest in a long line of criticism Game of Thrones faced following its finale.

Game of Thrones season eight had been highly-anticipated for almost two years and it ended up being the worst-rated run in the series history on the likes of IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes.

A petition for season eight to be rewritten with “competent writers” was even established, gaining over a million signatures in its first few days of existence.

Fans were left questioning a number of plot holes in the final season, as well as spotting a handful of on-screen blunders, including a much-talked-about water bottle incident.

Since Game of Thrones came to an end, neither Weiss or Benioff have made public appearances to address the criticism the series has faced.

Game of Thrones season 8 is available to buy and stream on Amazon Prime now.
