Gogglebox’s Lee Riley has emotional goodbye with boyfriend as he flies back from Cyprus to film the new series – The Sun

GOGGLEBOX'S Lee Riley had an emotional farewell with his boyfriend Steve Mail as he flew back to the UK from Cyprus.

The telly favourite – usually paired with his pal Jenny Newby – had a goodbye dinner with his partner of 26 years before jetting back to film series 16 of the Channel 4 show.

Lee and Steve cuddled up for a sweet selfie at a hotel overlooking a pool on Monday.

Steve wrote: "Never tire of this peaceful and chilled idyllic hideaway thanks for a fabulous time Lee Riley safe journey back to Blighty.

"Love you to the moon and back ??#vounikinghotelandrestaurant #cyprus2020 #gogglebox #series16."

The couple reunited in Cyprus at the start of August.

The pair were separated by lockdown, with Lee living in their caravan in the UK while Steve lives in Cyprus.

In a series of snaps from Steve's Instagram, the loved-up couple looked like they were living life to the full.

The pair enjoyed dinners at fancy restaurants, hikes in the countryside and "chilled" days spent hanging out by the pool.

Marking the end of their time together, Steve recently said: "Last week of summer fun with my best friend and the love of my life ahead of Gogglebox series 16."

The sweet couple spent Christmas and New Year in Cyprus together – and Jenny has even been out to stay with them over the summer.

Lee and Jenny joined forces last week to tease the return of Gogglebox.

Alongside a beaming selfie, whey wrote: “We’re all smiles. Two weeks on Friday and our favourite duo are back.”

The Channel 4 hit will return to our screens on September 11 after it went off air in May.
