Grand Designs viewers baffled as they see naked man hiding behind presenter

Channel 4's Grand Designs viewers were certain they spotted a 'naked man' in the background of a scene from the show.

In the House of the Year episode, as presenter Kevin McCloud discuss ideas people "already know and love", eagle-eyed fans couldn't help but notice a 'naked man' in the background of the shot.

The 'man' stood gazing out of the window, seemingly unphased by the filming going on just steps away from him.

Elsewhere in the programme, Kevin explain that the plan for the property was to "‘boldly go where no house has gone before".

However, this modern build with ceiling-to-floor glass windows throughout seemed to expose a little bit too much.

Kevin, who didn't seem to notice the un-dressed visitor, continued discussing Cronuts, while viewers too to Twitter to share what they'd just spotted.

"Why is there a naked man stood in the background behind Kevin McCloud as he’s talking about Cronuts!!?", one tweeted, astonished.

The man was in full view of the camera crew, so it's unusual that such a shocking discovery would go unnoticed.

However, upon closer inspection, the 'naked man' was revealed to be a sculpture rather than an actual person, a fact which Channel 4 later confirmed.

Elsewhere in the programme, the House of the Year shortlist stirred some outrage amongst fans, with each episode leaving viewers divided over which house should win the top spot.

Just last week, viewers were left feeling unimpressed with the Royal Institute of British Architects’ choices as their "clear winner", the Parchment House, didn't make the cut for the shortlist the night after.

One tweeted: "Parchment House is the one, that’s the winner, what an absolute triumph #GrandDesigns #HouseoftheYear"

While another added: "Parchment House is the one, that’s the winner, what an absolute triumph #GrandDesigns #HouseoftheYear"
