Even if Nini is attending another school, the theater nerds of East High School are all in this together. Disney+ released new episodes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, complete with original songs from some cast members.

How long are episodes of this original mockumentary? Here’s what we know about this High School Musical-themed show.

‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ season 2 premiered on Disney’s streaming platform, Disney+

Once a Wildcat, always a Wildcat. During season 1 of the Disney+ original series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, fans saw the actor students of East High put on a production of High School Musical.

Well, technically they’re characters appearing in a mockumentary, but with this series came original songs, dance numbers, and a new appreciation for theater among many characters.

These cast members returned for season 2 of this Disney+ original. With the winter musical behind them, Miss Jenn has her sights set on a competition — the “Menkie” Awards. As a result, she picked Disney’s Beauty and the Beast as East High School’s spring musical.

With each new episode, fans see the characters rehearse in new roles. There’s plenty of drama along the way, especially with a beautiful and talented new girl who is pretty mean to theater nerds like Big Red.

How long are the episodes of ‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’?

Similar to the Disney+ original Star Wars series The Mandalorian, episodes of this High School Musical-themed mockumentary are around 30 to 40 minutes long. The exact run time of each episode varies based on the content of the episode.

This is different from the original High School Musical movies, which were initially released on the television network, Disney Channel. As full-length films, High School Musical, High School Musical 2, and High School Musical 3: Senior Year each run over an hour.

‘High School Musical: The Musical: The Series’ also premiered a holiday special on Disney+

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, season 2 was somewhat delayed. However, Olivia Rodrigo, Joshua Bassett, Matt Cornett, Sofia Wylie, Larry Saperstein, Julia Lester, Dara Reneé, Frankie Rodriguez, Joe Serafini, Mark St. Cyr, and Kate Reinders returned for a holiday special of this Disney+ original.

The High School Musical: The Musical: The Series holiday special was somewhat longer than normal episodes, running about 45 minutes long. It featured songs performed by the cast members, as well as a special look into season 2.
