I was on Strictly and pro dancers LIE about being happy with celeb pairings, says Scott Mills | The Sun

FORMER Strictly Come Dancing star Scott Mills has insisted the pro dancers aren't always happy about their celebrity pairings.

The Radio DJ admitted that things aren't always as they seem when it comes to how happy the professionals are at who they are picked to dance with in the BBC competition.

Strictly is due to return this weekend with a glamorous launch show and new line up – seeing celebrities paired with their pro dancing partners for the first time on TV.

Scott, 49, who took part in the dancing competition back in 2014, gave away the behind-the-scenes secret ahead of the new series.

The former Radio 1 star, who was paired with Joanne Clifton on the show, explained the relationships aren't always rosy.

Speaking on Radio 5 Live, he admitted: "On my series there were some dancers who weren’t happy with their celebrities."

He went on to insist that any glimpse of unhappiness in pairings was "never seen on screen" and was kept amongst the professionals.

"One of the things that gets me is when the contestant meets the dancer for the first time and they have to pretend they would have chosen each other," Scott's former co-host Chris Stark responded.

"The chances that every contestant has been linked with exactly the right dancer and that dancer has been linked with exactly the right contestant is mind-boggling.

"You have got more chance of winning the lottery."

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return this weekend, with the celebrity-professional partnerships revealed for the first time.

Last week, Strictly fans were left FURIOUS as pairings leak online – spoiling some of the highly-anticipated launch show.

The new celebrities were paired up with their professional dance partners in a pre-recorded filming session earlier this week.

Stars this year include Countryfile's Helen Skelton, football legend Tony Adams, Fleur East, Bros legend Matt Goss, comedian Ellie Taylor and Loose Women's Kaye Adams.

Coronation Street favourites Will Mellor and Kym Marsh will also take to the dance floor this year.
