Ian's fate sealed as Phil gets Sharon a deadly drug to kill him in EastEnders

Sharon Beale (Letitia Dean) resumed her plan to murder Ian (Adam Woodyatt) in EastEnders tonight (January 19), after Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) acquired her a drug strong enough to kill him.

The Queen Vic landlady has been slowing poisoning Ian since Christmas Day, when it was revealed that she knew all about what happened between he and Denis Rickman (Bleu Landau) on the boat.

Ian has become increasingly unwell as a result of her actions, and he’s started to suspect that she might be behind his mystery illness after Max Branning (Jake Wood) made some bold accusations.

However, Sharon ultimately reconsidered her plan to murder Ian after a heart-to-heart with Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), as she came to realise that she couldn’t put Kathy through what she went through when she lost Dennis.

Therefore, she called the whole thing off.

Phil wasn’t prepared to let Ian away with his sins, however, and tonight he attempted to make Sharon see why he believes Ian needs to die.

Sharon ultimately saw Phil’s points, and therefore, the plan was back on — only this time, she decided that she needed something stronger to finish the job swiftly.

Phil acquired her the drug she needed, as Ian sat at the bar, smiling at his wife.

Will Sharon follow through and murder Ian? Or will Ian discover the truth about what she’s up to before it’s too late?
