IT Chapter Two: Is there post credit scene? What is running time of Stephen King movie?
IT Chapter Two is almost in cinemas. This means Pennywise the Dancing Clown is close by, with his terrifying red balloons. And fans will be desperate to find out whether there’s more to feast on after the film ends.
Is there a post credit scene for IT Chapter Two?
The short answer is no, there is not.
Judging by the ending, an end credits scene could seem a little strange.
And director Andy Muschietti has openly admitted there was a conscious decision not to do this.
He told HuffPost: “Post-credit scenes a la Marvel normally have a very distinct function, which is tease people about a future movie.
“But yeah, this is, like, the idea that this is over.”
Despite that, it may be a post-credit scene is on the cutting room floor, as was the case with the first IT movie from 2017.
The director added there was meant to be a post-credits scene in the first film, but it was tough to get their adult Beverly Marsh, played by Jessica Chastain, on set.
Andy added: “Something a lot of people probably don’t know is ‘Chapter One’ did have the idea to make a post-credit scene, which was Beverly Marsh picking up the phone.
“So, 27 years later, post credit, you would see a phone ringing.
“It’s an iPhone, so it’s impossible that it’s 1989, and a hand comes in and the camera wraps around this red-haired back of a head, and we turn around, and it’s Jessica Chastain!”
His sister and the film’s producer, Barbara, added: “We did all that we had to do to make sure that Jess was our Beverly, and then she was, so we got our wish.”
What is the running time of IT Chapter Two?
In order to get in as much of the book’s storylines as possible in the final film, the movie has a pretty hefty running time.
Loo breaks may be required as the film comes in at a whopping two hours and 50 minutes.
This is a whole 25 minutes more than the first film, which came in at two hours 35 minutes.
It is also uncharacteristically long for a horror films, so spook fans will be a little surprised by that.
IT Chapter Two comes to cinemas on September 6
