JULIA Bradbury has posed in a bikini for the first time since having a mastectomy as part of her treatment for cancer.

The Countryfile presenter took to Instagram with the holiday snap, showing off her figure in a blue and white bikini and pink cover-up.

Julia, 51, was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is due to take part in an upcoming ITV programme documenting her journey.

The TV presenter bravely underwent a mastectomy to try and stop the cancer from spreading as part of her treatment last year.

Looking glamorous, Julia donned her bikini and her beach cover-up as she enjoyed some sunshine on Friday morning.

She told fans how she finally felt confident enough to be "back in a bikini again", something she "didn't think would happen".

Julia confirmed she'd had her mastectomy last October – showing a picture of herself lying in her hospital bed.

Julia, who co-presented the BBC One programme from 2004 to 2014, found a lump in her breast last year, which proved to be a cluster of benign micro-cysts.

The mother-of-three revealed that she was going to have her left breast removed, along with the six centimetre tumour.

In December, Julia told fans that she had "gone backwards" in a worrying update to fans on social media.

In a video posted online, Julia said: "Hi everybody. I'm back in my pyjamas today. I've sort of gone backwards this week.

"I've been feeling better and stronger every week since my op but this week I've got really flu-ey symptoms.

"I've done a covid test and that's come back negative. I'm really phlegm-ey and cough-ey and chesty.

"All I really want to do to stay in bed but I have forced myself just to come outside and just get just 20 minutes out here.

"Because I know it's going to be good and fill my lungs with some good air. And sometimes you just gotta push through a bit.

"Then I'm gonna go back to back. I hope you having a good weekend and sending lots of love. Hope you're all getting your outdoor time."

The mother-of-three bravely opened up about her shock cancer battle admitting: "It changes your world forever in an instant.

"There is no preparing you for those words. You hear 'cancer' and your brain starts to explode."

Last year, Julia had found a lump in her breast which proved to be a cluster of benign micro-cysts, and she had to have another mammogram this year.

The scan, which included an ultra sound and a physical examination, hadn't returned anything alarming, so she almost didn't go to her follow up appointment this month.

However, her sister encouraged her to keep the appointment, and so she did, only for her doctor to find a small shadow on her breast.
