Kate Garraway misses Good Morning Britain comeback after oversleeping forcing Ranvir Singh to step in

KATE Garraway was given a rude awakening today after oversleeping and missing her own Good Morning Britain comeback.

The I'm A Celebrity campmate missed the show this morning and was replaced at the last moment by reporter Ranvir Singh in the studio.

Presenter Ben Shepherd broke the news to confused viewers by welcoming Ranvir to the desk saying it was a "surprise" to see her.

Ranvir said: "It's a bit of a surprise for me too. 3.26am, I got a text message this morning, just shortly after my alarm went off because I'm usually outside in the dark and the rain.

"I love it out there. Hi love, this is from our lovely editor, we've got a problem – we can't raise Kate Garraway. If need be could you step in to do the show with Ben. We'll keep you posted."

Ben then joked Kate had changed since her stint in the jungle as Kate was surprised live on air still at home.

"I'm going to get fired," she joked still dressed in last night's clothes and makeup.

"I can't believe I've done this. I've still got my hair blow dried, all my make-up on from last night.

"William's off school at the moment, he's not very well so I was laying next to him and I fell asleep.

"I've still got my shoes on. I fell asleep and next thing I know it's 20 minutes ago. I've never done this in 20 years."

Kate was then mock-horrified as she caught sight of her naked husband as she called into the show.

The presenter will return to the show tomorrow, unless she oversleeps again.
