Laura Whitmore makes dig at Love Island as she couldnt do things she wanted
Laura Whitmore has made her thoughts about Love Island clear after her exit and explained exactly why she chose to quit the hosting role.
The mum-of-one is being replaced by Maya Jama – who had been at the top of fans' dream host lists since the late Caroline Flack stepped down.
And Laura, who had to fight off criticism during her time as host, has now given more detail into what made her leave the role.

She previously suggested aspects of the job had been "very difficult", and has now explained it was because she had to "go quiet" when with the islanders.
Speaking to Psychologies magazine, Laura, 37, said: "There was only so much I can do as a host," adding: "I couldn't support [the islanders] or not support them."
She went on to say that she hadn't been allowed to "say anything", instead being forced to "go quiet".
Laura said that had been "hard" for her, as she likes to be able to "have those conversations".
And it was that which helped her to make her decision to leave, as she admitted: "If I could [have done] things the way I wanted to, I'd probably still be doing it."
Laura announced her decision to step away from the show in August 2022 just a matter of weeks after Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned the winners.
At the time, she suggested "certain elements of the show" pushed her to leave, citing having to travel to the villa and back to the UK and "new conflicting projects".
ITV praised her as a "fantastic host" and confirmed in October that Maya would be taking over.
Over the festive period, Love Island fans got the first glimpse of the new series, set to start in January, with a promo ad featuring Maya, and another showing a bucking bronco.
The new series will be filmed in South Africa like the first winer run of the show, which has not aired since 2020.
Paige Turley and Finn Tapp won the first ever winter series.
