Speaking to Entertainment Weekly about the moment Chloe and Lucifer finally hooked up, showrunner Idly Modrovich said: “There was a lot of pressure at that moment. We really wanted it to not be too easy.
“Even though it’s been a long journey, within the actual season, we wanted to make it important and make it land.
“Then on the b-side, we wanted to make sure it wasn’t a happily-ever-after because that’s not only boring, that’s unrealistic.
“It was a big seminal moment for us for sure and for the characters. We talked ad nauseam about how to handle it. And I think it turned out pretty good!
“Also, we wanted it to be hot. They’ve had these moments where they’ve come together a little bit and they’ve shared these sweet or emotional kisses.
“We wanted this to be just gloves off, you know?”
Before the long-awaited moment, Lucifer and Chloe worked through their issues, with Lucifer realising he chooses to be vulnerable around Chloe.
His mojo of bringing out people’s desires also does not work on Chloe because she is the only person in the world who can see him for his true self.

However, sex brought some complications for their relationship, with Chloe gaining the ability to mojo Lucifer.
This meant, Chloe was able to ask Lucifer’s desires and he could no longer use his mojo on anyone else.
In the end, Lucifer was able to take his mojo back, but this also meant he was no longer vulnerable around Chloe, something he could not explain.
Explaining what Lucier’s invulnerability meant for their relationship, Modrocvich teased: “If you think about the fact that God shows up, we like to relate it to when we go back home to Thanksgiving; you tend to revert a bit, right? And sort of become a child and start acting like what you did when you were younger.
“I think the presence of God could have that effect.
“With Lucifer, it’s always about taking one step forward but two steps back. So yeah, he gets in his own way and that’s all I can say about that.”
Fans have continued to express their excitement and Lucifer and Chloe finally taking things into the bedroom on Twitter.
One Lucifer fan said: “Do you realise we live in a world where Lucifer is Chloe’s boyfriend and Chloe is Lucifer’s girlfriend. And they had sex. COUPLE AND THEY HAD SEX?!!!! YESSSSS IT’S TRUE. IT’S NOT AN IMAGINATION ANYMORE.”
