Netflix's You series two gives first look at stalker Joe and his new victim – and he’s creepier than ever

FANS of hit Netflix series You have been given their first look at season two – and Joe being creepier than ever.

Penn Badgley resumes his role as the stalker and moves from New York to Los Angeles after killing his girlfriend Beck at the end of series one.

In two new snaps from the second season, Joe is seen lurking behind his new love interest – aptly called Love – in a grocery store.

However Joe also crosses paths with his ex-girlfriend Candace, with the pair sharing an intense-looking chat across a restaurant table.

Speaking about the new series, show runner Sera Gamble told Entertainment Weekly: "Netflix was clear they wanted us to give them a show that was like season one.

“They basically said, ‘It’s not broke, don’t fix it.’ ”

However, Sera says Joe isn't the same man he was in series one.

She explained: "It’s not that simple love-at-first-sight he might’ve been looking for a couple of years ago.

"He’s a different guy. He’s been through more.”

She added that Love sees Joe as a "kindred spirit", sensing he has suffered a great loss – without realising the circumstances of how it came to pass.

Sera said: “The circumstances of his encounter with Love are very informed by what he went through with Beck.”

As for Candace – whose existence is a major departure from the Caroline Kepnes novel the show is based on – Sera said: "“She is a survivor.

"And now she’s faced with some really difficult decisions about how she’s going to move forward.”

Earlier this month it was confirmed the show's second series will premiere on Boxing Day, December 26.
