Nick Frost cost new comedy Truth Seekers £20,000 after changing sign to read 'wan kit'

YOU would expect a few pranks on set with Nick Frost around . . . but his latest had a hefty price tag.

The actor added £20,000 to the bill for his new Amazon Prime Video comedy series Truth Seekers after leaving a rude phrase in shot.

Ahead of the show’s arrival on October 30, Nick said: “We put shelves in the back of a van and it was called the ‘Van Kit’.

“Someone had a pen and I changed the V into a W . . .  then completely forgot.

“We shot the whole scene with that in the background. Then Jim (Field Smith, the director) came into the van and said, ‘Has that thing been there the whole f***ing time?’

“I just didn’t realise. It cost us, like, 20 grand to take it out in post-production.”

Nick said working on the show with his long-time comedy partner Simon Pegg was like being reunited with “old pants”.

Sounds well worth £20k.

Joel trick or sheet

Joel Dommett left nothing to the imagination as the telly favourite had a mishap with his Halloween outfit. 

The comic struggled to find the eyeholes for his ghostly get-up on his ITV2 quiz show Hey Tracey!.

Rita Ora tried to help out but only succeeded in pulling off the sheet.

And a red-faced Joel was left running around the studio in just his socks and trainers. 

We’ve all been there . . . or at least we have now, watching him.

Frights out for Luther writer Neil

As a seasoned crime writer who has just penned a supernatural drama, Neil Cross ought to be fearless.

However, the creator of Luther is anything but.

Neil, whose new thriller The Sister debuts on ITV tonight at 9pm, revealed: “I’ve got a crippling fear of the dark. I cannot bear the darkness.

“If I’m alone in the house, I have to have every light in the house on.

“Every single light. If there are ceiling lamps, wall lamps, they must be on.

“If there’s a cupboard that’s got a light in it . . . I cannot go to sleep . . . I can’t be alone in the house knowing there’s darkness in that cupboard. I’m metaphorically haunted.”

Perhaps it’s just the sign of a great imagination.

Back to school

DAVID JASON returns to his primary school and the site of his childhood home on The One Show on BBC1 tonight – and recounts how his mum eased his fears during World War Two bombing raids.

The veteran actor said: “My mother used to say, ‘Don’t worry, it’s only God moving his furniture about’.”
