Noel Gallagher’s daughter Anais risks wrath of her father by kissing his ‘rival’ Lewis Capaldi – The Sun
WHEN this year’s breakout star Lewis Capaldi first sparked a feud with Noel Gallagher I feared he wouldn’t last long against the king of showbiz banter.
But far from rolling over and giving in, the self-styled Scottish Beyonce has proved himself a worthy adversary at every turn — and has now dealt a potentially knockout blow to the Oasis legend.
In a cheeky dig likely to have Noel seeing red, Lewis posed up with the guitarist’s model daughter Anais during a night out this week — even planting a cheeky kiss on the teenager’s cheek in an extremely brave two fingers at his nemesis.
Touche. Let’s see you top that, Noel.
The verbal sparring match between the singer kicked off earlier this year when the elder statesman of Britpop threw shade at the newcomer by posting a video of his son crying to huge hit Someone You Loved — then later jibing: “Music is f***ing w***. Who is this Capaldi fella? Who the f*** is that idiot.”
But Lewis took it on the chin and wore the dig as a badge of honour, later playing the clip of Noel’s jibes when he appeared at Glastonbury while also wearing an I Love Noel T-shirt. They went on to trade cheeky insults, including Noel calling Lewis Chewbacca.
Clearly that hasn’t put Anais off wanting to hang out with him more, after they first met at the Mad Cool music festival in Madrid this summer, where her dad was performing.
Lewis has been unveiled as the new face of dating app Tinder in a bid to find love — with his profile now plastered on billboards across the country.
Unveiling the campaign, he quipped: “I’m yet to find love and Tinder Gold is the only lifeline I have left before I’m resigned to a lifetime living at home with my mother.”
His bio on the site identifies him only by his first name and says: “I have a blind dog and am proficient in hand-to-hand combat.”
That could come in useful if Noel decides to take their dispute up a notch after his cheeky moment with Anais. Or if he decides to really up the ante and takes Mrs Capaldi out for dinner.
