Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid pulled off air as GMB suffers technical difficulty

Good Morning Britain was pulled off air this morning as Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid’s coverage of the Oscars from Los Angeles fell into chaos over technical issues.

The pair were talking from the Beverley Hills Hotel in Hollywood to discuss what happened at last night’s Oscars ceremony, joined by a panel of guests including Mark Wright, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Joan Collins, Rapman and Perez Hilton.

However, within minutes of the episode starting, things began to go wrong as microphones would cut in and out and red carpet coverage of Ross King at the Vanity Fair after party would suddenly go live without warning.

Finally, an hour into the episode, Piers had to cut off Mark Wright to reveal the show had to cut to commercial as the problems were solved.

He said: ‘We’re just hearing Mark we’ve got a problem with your mic, we’ve got a problem with Sharon’s mic, apparently at one stage we were hearing Joan and she’s not even here!’

‘You heard us at the top of the programme when we thought we were off-mic!,’ Susanna then laughed, referring to Sharon Osbourne who was caught swearing in conversation unaware her microphone was suddenly live.

‘Hearing Joan Collins off-mic might be very entertaining,’ Piers added. ‘But just in case, we’ll take a short break for what we call “techncial issues” to be resolved.

Susanna was then caught declaring ‘Someone sort the mics!’

Things didn’t seem to get much better when GMB came back, with Vanity Fair coverage suddenly appearing on TV as microphone issues continued and the screen kept blacking out.

The team were seen struggling as they juggled multiple locations – with Piers and Susanna and LA speaking live about the Oscar and Ross King at the Vanity Fair party.

The news and weather was also airing from the GMB studios as normal from London as well.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
