Sonia dismayed as she is left to care for Reiss' ailing wife in hospice in EastE
Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) was horrified to learn that Reiss Colwell (Jonny freeman) was still married in EastEnders earlier this year.
The revelation caused a huge ruck between them, with Reiss desperate to explain himself.
Despite her anger, Sonia allowed him to do so, and soon learnt that his wife, Debbie, was in full-time hospice care after suffering a stroke in the bath.
Though at first Sonia insisted that this didn’t change the fact that she wanted them to break up, she soon relented when Reiss revealed that he truly loved her, though she made him promise that there would be no more secrets.
In upcoming scenes, Sonia will grow upset over the situation with Debbie once more when a visit to see her doesn’t quite go to plan.
Sonia has always been willing to accompany Reiss to visit Debbie, but she will grow upset when she ends up having to spend her whole day alone with her.
She has no choice but agree to stay with her when Reiss is called to deal with a client crisis.
Sonia is left stewing on her feelings until Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) provides a listening ear later on.
As Sonia explains what’s bothering her, Whitney urges her to tellReiss the truth about her feelings towards Debbie.
The following day, Reiss is apologetic for not having been sensitive to Sonia’s feelings, an arranges for them to have a nice lunch date.
However, things take a turn when he drunkenly expresses his negative views about having children, unaware that Sonia is late on her period and suspects she may be pregnant…
