Kym Marsh will not be on the Strictly dancefloor this weekend because she has Covid.

The Coronation Street beauty, 46, has been wowing fans of the BBC ballroom contest with her routines so far in the competition.

But after testing positive for the coronavirus, she and her professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima will have to sit out Saturday night's show.

Unfortunately it isn't the only health issue that the star has had to deal with of late, with Kym also opening up about panic attacks and vertigo.

    Testing positive for Covid

News that the actress would be missing Strictly emerged early in the week.

It was reported that Kym and Graziano were out this weekend but could be back on the dancefloor next week.

"Kym Marsh has tested positive for Covid-19," a spokesperson said.

"As a result, Kym and Graziano will not be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend.

"Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week.”

    Anxiety struggles

Kym has been open about the fact that she has suffered from anxiety.

In 2018 she told The Sun that when she started to get anxiety attacks she felt light-headed and as if she couldn't breathe and would get pins and needles.

The star said the first time it happened she thought she was going to die.

Kym, who was driving at the time, said: "It's a really frightening, really scary thing to experience.

"Especially when it's the first time.

"You think: 'Well it happened when I was driving my car, so I'll stop driving my car' and you start avoiding places and you think that's going to stop it from happening, but of course it doesn't and it happens somewhere else."

The actress went on to seek help and learned how to cope with the attacks.

    Diagnosed with vertigo

The actress recently shared that she suffered an ear infection more than six years ago which permanently affected her balance and that she has since been diagnosed with visual vertigo.

The condition is characterised by symptoms of dizziness, vertigo, unsteadiness and disorientation.

Kym opened up about it on Strictly spin-off It Takes Two as she talked about one of her dances, saying: "Well, you see, I’ve got visual vertigo. I had an ear problem about six years ago and it left me with visual vertigo.

"So basically, even like, moving lights make me feel weird.

"So spinning and spinning and spinning and there's a particular part in this routine where I am spinning so fast, and then he wants me to get up and do a turn on my own."

"Well, I can’t do them at the best of times so I'm literally like, ‘Oh my – what am I going to do here?’" she added.
