Strictly's Ranvir Singh 'in tears' watching Saturday's performance back after wowing judges with Giovanni Pernice

STRICTLY Come Dancing's Ranvir Singh was left "in tears" as she watched Saturday night's performance back, her "proud" Good Morning Britain co-stars have revealed.

The 43-year-old star was the talk of today's instalment of the breakfast show, with her friends sharing how impressed they were with her fancy footwork.

Ranvir and her professional partner Giovanni Pernice performed in front of the judges for the first time during the weekend's first live show of the series.

She blew away judges and viewers alike with her moves, and Richard Arnold revealed that it has all been a bit overwhelming for the TV presenter.

He told viewers: "This was essential viewing; tied third top of the leader board in week one.

"I spoke to her on Sunday, God bless her, and she said she was watching the programme back and she was in tears."

Addressing his and co-host Charlotte Hawkins' past stints on Strictly, Richard continued: "You and I were probably the same, watching ourselves back, probably more relieved that it was over in week one, right?

"But the girl did good, talk about shaking what her mama gave her."

Charlotte agreed: "And that's a hard dance to start off on week one, to go straight into the Pasodoble – look at her go!"

Richard concluded: "She absolutely tore it up, we couldn't be more proud.

"Straight 7s – that is phenomenal for week one, she's in the full thrust of it and she's doing an amazing job."

Kate Garraway was among Ranvir's famous pals to support her on the night, taking to Instagram at the time to share her pride.

The mother-of-two posted a snap of Ranvir on her TV, writing in the caption: "OMG – she was amazing !!! ????@bbcstrictly @ranvirtv".

Kate knows the challenges of Strictly all too well, having competed on the show back in 2007, where she and Anton du Beke finished 8th out of the 14 couples.

Meanwhile, fans expressed their shock at seeing Ranvir all glammed up in her dazzling evening dress, with GMB's political correspondent normally seen wrapped up warm in a waterproof coat as she stands outside parliament on Good Morning Britain.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their reaction to her transformation, with one writing: "I almost didn't recognise Ranvir there, she looks bloody amazing!"

Ranvir previously spoke about her nerves as she prepared for the live show.

She hinted at trouble ahead with Giovanni as she admitted he is a "fiery Italian" and that she is a "bit scared of him".

Ranvir also confessed to a "meltdown" and storming out of rehearsals as she refused to speak to the pro.
