'The Challenge: Double Agents': Is This CT Tamburello's Last Season?
CT Tamburello is infamous for his performances on MTV’s The Challenge. Despite his age, the veteran player continues to prove himself time and time again, and he’s making it far on Double Agents. So, is this CT’s last season of the show before he retires reality TV for good?
Will CT Tamburello continue to be on the show after ‘Double Agents’?
CT’s been playing MTV’s The Challenge since his 20s, and fans certainly can’t imagine the game without him. The star veteran’s first season was The Inferno back in 2004, and he’s won multiple seasons since. Today, he’s 40 years old — and he’s surely thinking about how long he can keep up with the young 20-somethings who are cast for the show now.
In 2018, CT spoke to Rolling Stone about his longevity with the show. And it seems his days might be numbered. While he adores The Challenge, he said he couldn’t see himself participating past the age of 40 primarily due to his family duties.
“My son will be 5 when I’m 40,” CT shared. “Honestly, I can’t see myself doing this when I’m 40. I mean, I know I said that about turning 30 when I was in my 20s. … It’s a lot different. My son is going to school soon. I want him to come home and have me there. I don’t want to be a dad that’s never around.”
He then added that he knows he’s still lucky to get the call back for the show, though, and he doesn’t take it for granted. “I’m lucky to still be doing this,” CT noted. “I never thought my 15 minutes would last 15 years. And I don’t expect it to last much longer! I have termed the lease. I really can’t see myself doing this over 40. I want to ride off gracefully into the sunset and pass the torch to a new generation.”
CT won’t be participating in ‘The Challenge: All Stars’
While CT’s days with MTV’s The Challenge might be numbered, fans are certainly hoping he’ll stick around. But we definitely noticed he’s not taking part in Paramount+’s The Challenge: All Stars. While Darrell Taylor and Aneesa Ferreira from Double Agents are both competing on All Stars, CT isn’t part of the cast.
The idea for the All Stars season was originally brought up by cast member Mark Long, and he’s the one making it happen. In addition to Long, fans can expect to see Alton Williams, Ruthie Alcaide, and Derrick Kosinski back in the fray, just to name a few, according to E! News.
Fans can watch the new season on April 1 via Paramount+.
What does CT do for a living?
If CT’s no longer participating in MTV’s The Challenge after Double Agents, what’s his next plan? While he’s mentioned he does hold down a “real” job outside of reality TV, he’s never seemed to mention what that is. According to one Reddit user, CT flips houses in Florida, but that is currently unconfirmed. He’s also been involved in acting and producing films, though this is also limited.
We do know that he’s a family man above all else. While he had a frat boy attitude on some of his early Challenge seasons, he often talks about setting an example for his son now.
We’re sure we’ll hear plenty about CT’s future endeavors once he leaves the show for good. For now, we’ll have to wait and see what happens on Double Agents.
