The Walking Dead season 10: Negan to team up with The Whisperers in shock betrayal?

The Walking Dead fans are set to see the ultimate battle commence on Sunday. The new season will see the show’s heroes take on the Whisperers once and for all and fans are on the edge of their seats. Although viewers will have to wait and see who comes out on top, it seems Negan (played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan) is set to betray the gang once and for all.

Speaking on the red carpet for the season 10 premiere of The Walking Dead, Jeffrey revealed how this season will be different for fans.

The star begun: “I think we’re gonna see some different stuff this year.

“The Whisperers are taking up a great portion of our hero’s time…and not just our hero’s, it’s going to take up a lot of Negan’s time.”

Could Negan be teaming up with the Whisperers?

Last time fans saw Negan he had been locked up by Rick (played by Andrew Lincoln) and was being closely guarded to ensure the baseball-bat wielding villain wouldn’t cause any more harm.

However, Rick chose to spare his life, not wanting any more bloodshed.

Could this be his biggest mistake?

Fans will already know Negan is sure to be out in the open next season, but it is unknown where his loyalties lie.

The character seemed to be undergoing a transformation after saving Judith Grimes (Cailey Fleming) from the snowstorm last season.

However, it seems this could all be set to change.

Jeffrey continued: “The world keeps getting bigger and I think as the world expands more stories are there to be told and there’s more stuff for the audience to see as far as what our people are gonna be going through.

“The zombie apocalypse is now in its whatever year so there’s different problems, there’s a continuous growth in the problems that are occurring so it’s not just the walkers there’s other stuff.

“Other tests are gonna be thrown at our folks and we’ll see how they do. It’s going to be a really good year” he concluded.

Meanwhile, creator of The Walking Dead Robert Kirkman opened up about why he really killed off Rick Grimes in the comic books.

Speaking to Comicbook.com at the Walking Dead season 10 premiere, the creator revealed his thinking behind Rick’s death.

The creator began: “Rick Grimes fixed the world to the point where he was so safe that he could be killed by the weakest character in the book.

“It’s a statement on how good of a job he did.

“At no point in the history of the comic could he have been killed that way.

“It wasn’t until the very end that he was able to relax.”

The Walking Dead season 10 premieres on AMC on October 6 and on Fox UK on October 7.
