Fans will remember the character was spared by Alpha from a brutal death in the season nine finale.

He was returned alive so he could relay a message.

Despite suffering PTSD from the event, the character seems more disturbed than usual.

Is he acting as a mole in return for his life?

Many fans seem to think he was the one to have poisoned the water with Walker blood in order to weaken them for a Whisperer attack.

One fan wrote: “The Whisperers are poisoning their water with the walker blood to weaken them”

A second added: “Negan’s bringing war to Alpha as he continues to bond with Lydia. Siddiq is Alpha’s mole as he has PTSD of killing his friends.”

Another said: “I still think he’s a mole for the Whisperers. He’s not struggling with PTSD, it’s good old fashioned guilt is driving him mad!”

Meanwhile, show runner Angela Kang has spoken out about the scene in Sunday’s episode that saw Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) open up about his love life.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the showrunner explained: “Daryl’s such an interesting character that way because in some ways, when it comes to romantic relationships, he’s not a person that I think trusts easily, and a lot of that has to do with his backstory, which is filled with so much trauma.

“He was physically abused, as well as in other ways. There’s sensitivity there for him. And I think he’s also just a person who it’s hard for him to trust anybody enough to connect with them really, really deeply.”

Is it Daryl’s abusive past stopping him from trusting anyone?

However, the showrunner didn’t rule out the possibility of the character emotionally healing.

She added: “It’s a long, slow process for him in a lot of ways to get into any kind of a romantic thing, whereas I think most people these days think of it as just like, ‘Oh, you could have fun with somebody, and you can have sex with them and then it doesn’t have to mean anything.’

“Daryl’s just not wired that way, and that tracks with conversations that Norman [Reedus] and I have had.”

The Walking Dead season 10 continues Sunday on AMC and Monday on Fox UK.
