This Morning viewers tickled by Phil’s reaction to Martin Lewis’ X-rated slip up
This Morning viewers were tickled by host Phillip Schofield 's guilty expression after money expert Martin Lewis accidentally let slip a swear word live on air.
Martin was passionately discussing the danger of payday loans, when he referenced people taking them out while drunk.
He said: "Excuse the vernacular… They come home pissed at 12'o'clock at night."
Surprisingly, neither Phil nor his co host Holly Willoughby actually apologised or referenced the swear word, but Phil apologised in his own, silent way.
He looked over to the camera with a guilty expression which seemed to be a way to silently apologise to viewers.
The gaffe did not go unnoticed by Twitter users, one of whom called Martin a "naughty boy".
"Did Martin Lewis just swear? #ThisMorning ," asked one.
"I'm waiting for someone to apologise. They've just ignored it lol. Wasn't too bad to be fair… Better than the F word," pondered another.
"Love the fact martin lewis just swore & @thismorning just brushed past it but @Schofe silently apologises for it," joked another.
Another joked: "Phil giving the sorry eyes cause he said p***sed."
It was back to business as usual for Phil after he came out a gay last week and spoke to Holly about it during an emotional interview.
Today is Holly's 39th birthday, so the start of the show was dedicated to her, with a cake and candles brought out.
Holly made a wish and blew out her candles as Phil wished her happy birthday.
He spoke to his good friend Holly, who he called "the sister he never had", in an in-depth interview where he discussed his marriage to his wife of 27 years.
But there was no reference to the emotional interview in today's show as the hosts embarked on a normal episode, beginning by chatting about the Oscars best-dressed list.
Phillip sarcastically joked that he had been "poring over" the dresses, before stating that his favourite dress of the glitzy night was Renee Zellwegger's.
The official account for This Morning penned a sweet message to Holly on her special day, which said: "Everybody in the #ThisMorning team would like to wish you a very happy birthday @hollywills !"
