'Vanderpump Rules': Tom Sandoval Says the Reunion Was 'Very Emotional' and 'People Being Self Aware'

Tom Sandoval from Vanderpump Rules offered a hint about the level of emotion during the upcoming reunion.

He discussed the reunion on the Mention It All podcast on Spotify but Bravo by Betches shared a clip on Instagram of Sandoval’s remarks too. Like last year’s reunion, it sounds like plenty of drama and tears with Sandoval sharing that the cast finds self-awareness during the reunion journey.

Sandoval also teased about his relationship with other cast members and the rumors he and girlfriend Ariana Madix are not on the best terms with certain people.

It was emotional and people were self-aware

Sandoval chatted with the hosts from his kitchen, looking pensive about the reunion. “Definitely very emotional,” he says. “People really sort of owning up to certain things. And being self-aware. A lot of people being self-aware.”

But he adds, “Some not so much. Some just sort of continuing to not evolve as human beings. But what can you expect?” The hosts shared that Lala Kent mentioned she skipped filming scenes with the new people. But then Kent added that Sandoval and Madix aren’t her “cup of tea” either.

Sandoval wouldn’t address specifics to the comments but said, “Obviously we went through a bit of a rough patch throughout the season, but as far as how everything kind of ends up, you’re just going to have to wait and see in a couple of weeks.”

Jax Taylor felt ‘blindsided’

Jax Taylor instead said the reunion was “a little bit more intense than [he’s] used to,” he told E! News.

“It is what it is with our group, you know? I mean, there always is going to be drama. There’s always going to be arguing whether there’s a show or there’s not a show,” he continued. “I mean that’s just the group I’m involved with, as we’ve known each other for many, many years.”

“But the reunion, it was very intense. I didn’t think it was going to be that intense,” Taylor added. “The second part of the season, you know, I kind of had a couple of ups and downs, but like I tell everybody else, you follow somebody with the camera for six months and don’t have a couple of sit downs in your life. Tell me if that’s normal.”

Taylor would prefer an in-person reunion

When asked his preference in format, Taylor would rather face-off with his cast members in person. “If I had the choice between doing a virtual reunion or a non-virtual one, I would do it in person. It was a little tough. I couldn’t really say much…we were talking over each other,” he continued with E! News.

“It’s hard to chime in because of the way the system is built,” he said. “So, if someone is attacking you, or someone’s going off, and if you don’t agree with something, you have to wait until the complete sentence is done.”

“With our group that’s been tough,” he admitted. “I tend to make the same mistake more than two or three times, but it’s always good fun. Like I said, nobody has really gotten extremely hurt from anything. Sometimes we, we do malicious things, but we have good intentions, and it’s just the way our group works. We fight hard, but we love hard.”

Vanderpump Rules is on Tuesday at 9/8c on Bravo.
