'Vanderpump Rules': Why Tom Sandoval Gets Botox Above His Ears
Tom Sandoval of Vanderpump Rules has a very detailed beauty routine. So it shouldn’t be surprising that his approach to Botox is pretty strategic as well. Why does he get Botox above his ears? Here is everything you need to know.
Tom Sandoval talked about the makeup he wears to film
Sandoval is an open book when it comes to all the work that goes into his appearance. He revealed what kind of makeup he wears to film Vanderpump Rules.
“I have a concealer that I’ll wear sometimes, just if I have any dark circles,” he said according to Jezebel. “And sometimes if it’s hot, I’ll throw on some powder to keep me from looking like Jax [Taylor.] Jax is always so sweaty and greasy looking.”
He also makes sure to get a glow for the cameras. “I do get spray tans sometimes, yeah. Every once in a while [I’ll go to a tanning bed], but normally I do spray tans. The funny thing is, anything that I do or wear on our show, everybody else does the same f*cking thing.”
He tries to limit his use of Botox for his expressions
Sandoval was a model so his facial expressions are pretty important to him. He said that’s why he doesn’t get Botox in certain areas.
“I know it’s preventative,” he told PopSugar. “I personally just like the movement in my forehead. My eyebrows are a very expressive part of my look and my personality, so it’s just not something I really do.”
However, he helped his co-stars get Botox. Lala Kent posted a picture with him on Instagram and wrote in the caption according to Celebrity Insider, “Thank you @drjasondiamond for my #Diamondfacialsculpting & Botox! I feel brand new! & thank you @tomsandoval1 for keeping me company and being there for moral support. Y’all rock my world!”
He gets Botox above his ears to keep his hair in place
Many know that Botox is useful for smoothing wrinkle lines and prevent sweat. However, Sandoval has a different reason for getting injections.
“You know what, though, I have done it,” he admitted. “Just above my ears, I’ve done Botox. When I smile, my ears move up a lot and it keeps my hair from going over my ears.”
That isn’t really part of his regular routine. He clarified, “I’ve done it twice and it lasts for a long time.” That’s probably not the weirdest thing Sandoval does when it comes to grooming.
He wrote in a recap for In Touch Weekly, “And yes, I actually have a braid guy who comes to the house and obviously, I still shave my forehead. It’s a great way to exfoliate! Try it!”
Sandoval might not get Botox is common areas like his forehead, but he has tried it around the ears to keep his hair in place. Spray tanning, shaving, putting on makeup, and more goes into his look.
