We can't get enough of America's Got Talent's Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough
Gabrielle Union and Julianne Hough made their America’s Got Talent judging debut last night, beginning their takeover from Spice Girls Mel B and model Heidi Klum.
The brand new series got underway with a bang and audiences saw Gabrielle press her first ever Golden Buzzer for singer Kodi Lee, while Julianne cried at dancers Unbeatable.
The duo were revealed to be replacing Mel B and Heidi back in March, joining resident panelist Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel – and fans can’t get enough.
Viewers showered the newbies with love on Twitter, writing: ‘Julianne and Gabrielle are the best choices for the new judges on AGT. I absolutely love them and don’t want to stop watching.’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another added: ‘Gabrielle and Julianne, you’re two of the best women out there. You bring a positive and fresh vibe to AGT!
‘Keep that up. I’ll keep watching as long as you do. Thank you for spreading a great vibe in the world.’
Gabrielle explained that she’s always been an America’s Got Talent supporter, telling People: ‘I was a fan of the show but as someone who receives no’s on a daily basis, I wanted to be a part of saying yes to somebody’s dreams.
‘I don’t always get the yes’s that I want but it’s nice to be part of a show that is making dreams come true.’
Mel B decided to step down from the NBC show to focus on all things Spice Girls ahead of her reunion tour with Geri Horner, Mel C and Emma Bunton as Simon shook up the judging panel.
Discussing the changes ahead of the new series, Meredith Ahr, president of the alternative and reality group at NBC Entertainment, told Variety in a statement: ‘One of the many secrets to the success and longevity of America’s Got Talent is its fearless drive to reinvent itself.
‘The next evolution of the format brings in fresh expert eyes to join Simon and Howie on the panel. Gabrielle and Julianne are two of the most aspirational women in the business, on top of being electric entertainers with talent across disciplines.
‘I am excited to see how their knowledge, compassion and sheer joy enhance the experience for acts and viewers alike. As their partner in crime, host Terry Crews will continue to light up the stage with his quick wit and unending charm.’
America’s Got Talent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and Thursdays on Netflix in the UK.
