When is Children in Need 2019? BBC air date, presenters and how to watch
CHILDREN in Need is coming back to our screens this year, with some famous faces on board to raise money for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
But when does it start, who is presenting and what celebrities are taking part? We've got everything you need to know…
When is Children In Need 2019?
Children In Need 2019 will return on Friday, November 15, 2019, but the Get Together fundraising has already launched.
The appeal show will air on BBC in the hopes of raising hundreds of pounds for children and young people across the UK.
To date the Great British public has raised more than £1billion for the youth, with many doing their part to support the cause.
Simon Antrobus, Chief Executive at BBC Children in Need said: “Every year we are amazed by the remarkable efforts of supporters going above and beyond to make an impact on the lives of children and young people across the UK.
“Bringing people together sits at the heart of BBC Children in Need and we hope that our incredible fundraisers have a great time getting together in 2019, knowing it will help us give children and young people the childhood they deserve.”
Who is presenting Children in Need 2019?
Tess Daly
A seasoned professional at presenting, Tess has been the main presenter of Children In Need since 2016 and a co-presenter since 2008.
“I am intensely proud to be supporting BBC Children in Need again this year,” Daly said.
“In the last year alone, BBC Children in Need has been able to make a real difference to 600,000 young lives in communities the length and breadth of the UK – that’s incredible, and it is all down to people up and down the UK coming together to help make a difference.
“I hope they do it again this year, because it really will change young lives.”
She also won the special Children in Need version of Strictly Come Dancingagainst Terry Wogan where she was partnered with Anton du Beke.
She is married to fellow presenter Vernon Kay and they have two daughters – Amber and Phoebe.
Rylan Clark-Neal
Rylan, 30, rocketed to fame in 2012 after finishing fifth on The X Factor.
He then appeared on Celebrity Big Brother in January 2013 which he won.
IN 2019 he's taking part in a 24 hour karaoke extravaganza for BBC Children In Need.
Marvin and Rochelle Humes
Marvin Humes, 33, has been a co-presenter on Children In Need since 2016.
He is married to Rochelle from The Saturdays who has hosted the annual telethon since 2014.
Rochelle is a former member of S Club Juniors and The Saturdays.
In 2018 she is standing in for Holly Willoughby as a presenter on This Morning.
Which celebrities are supporting Children In Need 2019?
There are a long list of household names joining forces to support disadvantaged children and young people in the UK.
Joining the Get Together campaign are Rylan Clark-Neal, Tess Daly, Fleur East, Marvin Humes, Rochelle Humes, Danny Jones, Ashley Roberts and Laura Whitmore.
Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly has urged everyone to show their support in 2019: “I am intensely proud to be supporting BBC Children in Need again this year.
“In the last year alone, BBC Children in Need has been able to make a real difference to 600,000 young lives in communities the length and breadth of the UK – that’s incredible, and it is all down to people up and down the UK coming together to help make a difference.”
She continued: “I hope they do it again this year, because it really will change young lives.”
Meanwhile This Morning’s Rochelle Humes enthused: “Extraordinary things happen when people join forces to make a difference, and having worked with BBC Children in Need for many years I know the incredible things that are possible thanks to the public’s generosity.
"So come on everyone, Get Together to help make a difference to the lives of children and young people who really do need our support.”
Laura Whitmore, who presents 5Live, called on the Great British Public to Get Together to make a difference.
She declared: “The power of people uniting is remarkable, amazing things really can happen when we work together – and so I hope people across the UK have a great time getting together to support BBC Children in Need this year.”
How can I watch Children In Need 2019?
Children in Need returns to our screens on Friday, November 15, 2019.
We don't know what time the telethon will start yet.
However, in 2018 the show was broadcast across BBC One and BBC Two at 7pm.
Coverage started with a One Show special at 7pm focusing on the conclusion of the Rickshaw Challenge.
After that the main show continued on BBC One from 7.30pm to 10pm – before moving to BBC Two from 10pm-10.40pm.
