What is 1883 about?
The series follows the Dutton family as they travel west over the Great Plains to the last untamed part of America.
In this tale of Western expansion lies an intimate study of one family escaping hardship to seek a brighter future in America's promised land.
The spin-off series depicts the Dutton family leaving Texas to establish themselves in Montana.
The Duttons are land rich, owning and operating the largest contiguous ranch in the U.S.

Where is 1883 streaming?
1883 is exclusively found on Paramount Plus.
There is no indication yet that it may become available on other platforms like Netflix or Hulu.
It also doesn't appear to be heading to Peacock, which acts as Yellowstone's streaming base.
Paramount Plus has two subscription plans: Paramount+ Essential, a $4.99 ad-supported plan, and Paramount+ Premium, a $9.99 ad-free option.
Who stars in 1883?
James and Margaret Dutton are played by real-life couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, while Shea Brennan is played by Sam Elliott, a rugged cowboy with a dark background.
Isabel May, LaMonica Garrett, and Dawn Olivieri round out the cast.
Billy Bob Thornton will appear as a guest star, while Tom Hanks will appear in a flashback scene set during the Civil War.
Is 1883 being renewed?
On February 15, 2022, Paramount Plus announced it had ordered more shows of the series, but stopped short of saying 1883 had been renewed.
The order will mean additional shows are added to season one.
The continuation is good news for 1883 fans, but for a full second season they will have to wait.
