Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (played by Kevin Costner) who runs largest contiguous ranch in the United States. This success comes at a price with the ranch always being under threat as well as continuous family dramas between all of the siblings. The Paramount Network series surprised viewers yet again though with the season three finale The World is Purple.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Yellowstone.

The Duttons were under attack as a gunman shot John while he stopped to help a woman who had a flat tire.

Thankfully, it seems like he is going to be alright as his phone blocked the bullet from piercing his chest too deeply.

Elsewhere, Kayce Dutton’s (Luke Grimes) office was invaded by gunmen but it was left unclear whether or not he managed to fend them off or not.

Then there was Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) who was in her office when a suspicious looking package was sent to her.

When her assistant opened the box, there was an explosion and it is not known if Beth made it out alive or not.

These weren’t the only casualties though from Yellowstone season three.

At the beginning of the series, Jimmy Hurdstram (Jefferson White) took up bronc riding to earn a bit of extra cash.

In episode three though, Jimmy fell off the horse and was left seriously injured.

Luckily he survived and was on the mend but in the final episode, girlfriend Mia (Eden Brolin) encouraged Jimmy to literally get back on the horse.

Jimmy seemed less than keen to at first as he was still recovering from his last fall but after some persuasion from Mia, he took her advice.

When Jimmy did start riding again, the horse threw him off for a second time and he was left unconscious on the fall.

Now fans are concerned that the ranch hand’s luck has finally run out.

Does actor Jefferson White blame Mia for Jimmy’s fall in season 3 finale?

Since the scene aired, fans have been mad at Mia for pushing Jimmy to get back on the horse when he wasn’t ready.

But actor Jefferson White who portrays Jimmy has a very different take on what happened with Mia.

Speaking to Behind The Story, White said: “Jimmy is sort of questioning his decision to take the brand.

“And he’s imagining this other life with Mia. And Mia is pushing him in that direction. She’s pushing him, I think it’s really beautiful actually.

“She’s not pushing him to do what she wants, she’s pushing him to do what he wants.”

White added: “She’s saying don’t just keep living this life because Rip wants you to.

“Don’t keep living this life because Lloyd wants you to or John Dutton wants you to, or Kayce wants you to.

“What do you want? He loves Mia, but he also loves rodeo.

“And I don’t think he loves violence.

“She just gives him the freedom to do what he wants to do. And what he wants to do is get back up on that horse.

“And as soon as he gets back on that horse he’s back on the ground.”

Season three was left on a cliffhanger where the lives of four major characters were left hanging in the balance.

This will not be the end though as Paramount Network has already renewed the drama for a fourth season.

Even though an official release date hasn’t been announced, it is predicted that Yellowstone could return sometime in June 2021.

Yellowstone is available to watch on Paramount Network.
