Bunkhouse regular Lloyd Pierce (played by Forrie J. Smith) seems to be getting knocked off his feet in the most recent trailer for the upcoming instalment of Yellowstone. With just two months left to go before the hit Paramount series returns, fans are concerned none other than Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) has started to turn on his own ranch hands.
Rip Wheeler appears to be giving seasoned ranch hand Lloyd Pierce a beating in the new trailer for Yellowstone season four.
The highly anticipated outing will finally arrive in November, and fans are eager to see how the drama will pick up after last year’s shocking finale.
Following a devastating attack on the Dutton family, tensions will be running high as the survivors try to pin down the most likely suspects.
Ahead of the show’s return, a full trailer has been released with all new footage of the Kevin Costner-led series.
During a climactic point near the end of the teaser, Lloyd falls to the floor having received a brutal blow from an unknown assailant.
His attacker’s physique and wardrobe is very reminiscent of Lloyd’s own boss, the Yellowstone’s ranch manager Rip Wheeler.
Upon the release of the new trailer, one fan even posted some screen grabs on Reddit to provide a more detailed look at the recent footage.
On close inspection, Lloyd does indeed appear to be on the receiving end of a beatdown from the ranch’s vengeful head rancher.
Down in the comments, viewers also agreed the two cowboys have turned against each other following an unknown dispute.
One concerned Redditor commented: “Why the hell is Rip beating the s**t out of his Best Man, Lloyd !??
“I’ve slo-mo watched it and freeze-framed it a hundred times…It’s Rip beating Lloyd to what appears to be a pulp.”
Although the scene in question occurs in a split-second, this commenter maintains the two buddies are definitely embroiled in some sort of feud.

Of course, there’s a slim chance Lloyd is taking on a newcomer to the ranch rather than Yellowstone’s infamous bruiser, Rip Wheeler.
However, Rip is sure to be feeling the strain of responsibility next season after his boss John Dutton (Costner) was gunned down in the season three finale.
In the worst case scenario, John has succumbed to his wounds, leaving Rip in full control of the powerful estate.
Moreover, even if John has survived the attack, the ranch manager will be blazing a trail of revenge across Montana in search of the culprits.
Could Rip suspect Lloyd of knowing more about the attacks than he’s letting on?
There’s also the confirmed return of Lloyd’s girlfriend Laramie (Hassie Harrison) and her barrel racer friend Mia (Eden Brolin) for season four.
The new additions to the bunkhouses turned some of the ranch hands against each other, especially as their arrival led to Jimmy (Jefferson White) injuring himself in the rodeo.
As last year’s cliffhangers finally come to a head next season, fans could be about to see the Yellowstone ranch start to tear itself apart from the inside.
Yellowstone season 4’s two hour premiere will air on Sunday, November 7 on Paramount.
