The terraced house sits upon the famed Oakley Street – one of the most sought-after locations in Chelsea.
Reggae legend Bob Marley moved into the house next door in 1977 following an attempt on his life in Jamaica – the same year he released his album, Exodus, which stayed on the British album charges for 56 consecutive weeks.
Acclaimed Irish playwright Wilde lived at Number 87 with his mother Jane, while David Bowie lived in neighbouring number 89 in 1973.
Bowie lived in the iconic street for at least a few years and eventually the house was sold to footballer George Best, who resided there until his death in 2005.
It’s no surprise, then, to learn the current house on the market has only had three owners in its lifetime – despite being built in 1870.
