Hull house fire – Man & girl, 8, killed as blaze rips through house in suburbs

A MAN and an eight-year-old girl have died in a house fire in Hull.

Emergency crews were scrambled to the house at 7.50am today after the blaze erupted.

Crews managed to get everyone in the house out and extinguish the flames but the man was sadly declared dead at the scene.

The young girl was rushed to hospital but couldn't be saved and passed away shortly after.

Horrified locals revealed today how they banged on the door and shouted through the letterbox to alert the family as smoke billowed from a window.

But tragically their frantic warning cries were to "no avail", Hull Daily Mail reports.

One woman, whose daughter was pals with the tragic young girl, said: "I’m heartbroken. I just can’t believe it, I just can’t believe it.”

Humberside Police confirmed a cordon would be remain place as they work to establish the cause of the fire.

Anyone with information has been asked to call police on 101 quoting log 127 of January 25, 2020.
