A lifestyle journalist who left a cyclist with serious facial and leg injuries after hitting him with a $350,000 supercar has been jailed for a year.
Amelia Hungerford, who worked for Signature Luxury Travel & Style magazine, was invited to test drive a yellow McLaren Sport Series Coupe as part of a media event in May 2018.
The 28-year-old pleaded guilty in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court to dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm this week, 2GB reported.

She has been sentenced to 12 months behind bars with a non-parole period of seven months.
She was driving through Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park in north Sydney when she collided with cyclist James Tan.
Mr Tan, who is in his 50s, was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital with serious injuries.
Ms Hungerford was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests, but escaped uninjured.
She was later charged by police before sentencing last week, but was granted conditional bail and is expected to appeal the sentence.

McLaren explained journalists were invited to breakfast at a hotel in Woolloomoolloo before heading to the media event.
‘You will be required to complete handover forms detailing insurance and excess before you begin your drive,’ a statement reads.
‘Please note, in order to maximise your drive time in our Sport Series range, the event will conclude at the end of the drive at midday.’
