An abusive paedophile couple has been jailed for 25 years after admitting to a sickening string of 30 sex offences against children.

Kevin Hitt, 56, and his wife Nicola, 53, subjected the children to a campaign of vile abuse over a six-year period between 2008 and 2014.

When police raided their home in Tamworth, Staffordshire, in October 2019 they uncovered a hoard of video footage and pornographic images of kids.

Kevin Hitt pleaded guilty to 21 charges, including seven counts of engaging in a sexual act in the presence of a child, ten counts of causing a boy or girl to engage in a sexual act without penetration, and four counts of causing a child to watch sex.

He was jailed for 16-and-a-half years, given a sexual harm prevention order and placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for life at Stafford Crown Court on Monday.

Nicola Hitt admitted five counts of causing a boy or girl to engage in sexual activity without penetration and four counts of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child.

She was caged for eight years and three months and also made subject to a sexual harm prevention order and added to the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Staffordshire Police said they were made aware of the non-recent allegations of abuse against children after they were made to another force.

Detective Constable Kat Middleton said: ‘I want to thank the witnesses for coming forward and having the bravery to speak about the harm they suffered, allowing us to bring Kevin and Nicola Hitt before the courts.

‘I hope these jail sentences demonstrate that we will always do whatever it takes to bring offenders to justice, while ensuring victims and their families are offered the support they need.’
