Sen. Michael Bennet becomes latest Democrat to run for president

Sen. Michael Bennet became the latest Democrat to announce he will run for president in 2020.

The Colorado lawmaker announced his bid on “CBS This Morning” on Thursday, becoming the 22nd Democratic candidate in the race.

Bennet was expected to announce his bid last month but he was diagnosed with prostate cancer.

After undergoing surgery, his doctors gave him a clean bill of health.

Former Vice President Joe Biden, who formally announced his plans to run last week, has become the front-runner in the polls.
