Teen stabbed in the head survives after walking home with blade sticking out

A teenager who was stabbed in the head miraculously survived the attack after he walked home with the blade still lodged in his skull.
The 19-year-old was walking down a street in Santa Maria, Brazil when he was attacked by a man with a knife, who drove the blade into the top of his head.
The teenager, who has not been identified, said he did not see the attacker as he then fled from the scene in the state of Rio Grande do Sul.
The victim then walked home with the blade still protruding from his skull, local reports have claimed.

When he returned home, his family saw the blade and immediately called the emergency services. The teenager was then rushed to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University Hospital of Santa Maria by ambulance.
Graphic images of his injuries show the teenager’s head wrapped in bandages with the blade still stuck inside his skull.
It is believed the weapon has since been removed from his head, but the teenager remains in hospital as he recovers from his injuries.
His condition has been described as ‘serious’ by officials at the Santa Maria hospital.
The Civil Police Homicide and Personal Protection Division is investigating the case and no arrests have been reported.
