When do GCSE exams finish in 2019? Exam dates and timetables for end of year school exams

YEAR 11 pupils across the UK are sitting their GCSE exams as they put all those hours of revision to good use.

The exams only started last month but they'll soon be over – and students will finally be able to start their much-deserved summer break.  So when do they finish? Here is all you need to know.

When do GCSE exams end in 2019?

With a few exceptions, the main exam GCSE period runs from Monday, May 13, to Friday, June 21.

All exams begin at either 9am or 1.30pm.

What are the timetables?

Exams must be taken on the day and at the time shown on the timetable.

Each exam board runs a slightly different timetable.

So for specific dates for the exam you are looking to take, you’ll need to consult the exam board in question, which are:

• Assessment and Qualifications Alliance (AQA)
• Oxford, Cambridge and RSA Examinations (OCR)
• Edexcel/Pearson
• Welsh Joint Education Committee (WJEC)
• Council for the Curriculum, Examinations & Assessment (CCEA)

When will the GCSE results come out?

GCSE (General Certificate of Secondary Education) results day will fall on August 22 for England and Wales in 2019.

It's now possible to get your results online.

Alternatively, you can do it the old fashioned way – by turning up and opening the envelope at your school, so you can celebrate or commiserate with your exam comrades.
