An Alabama college student has become the fifth woman to speak out on Adam Levine’s wandering eyes, claiming the Maroon 5 frontman randomly stumbled upon her social media earlier this year and began chatting her up.
Ashley Russell, 21, who runs a health and exercise Instagram account with just over 4,100 followers, said the singer suddenly began viewing her Instagram stories in March this year, before liking her posts and sending her direct messages.
The fitness fanatic, a senior at Auburn University, told DailyMail.com the 43-year-old started replying to photos of her working out, particularly those showing off her toned legs and glutes, but would almost immediately delete his messages after she had read them.
She said the friendly exchanges took place almost daily but ultimately ran dry when she warned the father-of-two that he was going to get caught flirting with women online.

Russell said Levine started replying to her Instagram stories, particularly those showing off her toned legs and glutes. In one exchange from March 13, the singer appears to banter with her over her fitness routine
During the same conversation, the Maroon 5 frontman asks Russell if she’s in college. Russell said the flirty exchanges took place almost every night for a couple of weeks in March
Russell said Levine would almost immediately delete his messages after she had read them, likely to prevent her from taking screenshots
Screenshots shared with DailyMail.com show Levine’s verified account handle among the list of Russell’s story viewers, as well as a series of flirty messages allegedly sent by the pop-rock star.
In a direct message on March 13, Levine appears to banter with the young woman over her fitness routine saying: ‘Leg day. The most important and the easiest to skip [laughing emoji].’
Later in the conversation he asks: ‘You’re in college right?’, although the context is unclear. He then sent another message a minute later saying: ‘Nice work on legs. #commitment.’
Russell, who described herself as a ‘random girl in college’ compared to the Hollywood star, admitted that she thought it was ‘weird’ that Levine would strike up a conversation with her, but said she felt compelled to continue chatting to see how far he would go.
She said Levine allegedly told her he came across her account on his Instagram explore page – a content feed on the app that’s personalized to each user – which she also found strange.
‘[He would message] almost everyday at night around 10pm my time. I would check every time I posted a story, which was every day, and it was always viewed by him,’ Russell said.
‘He would like mainly like booty stories and would always reply with something to do with leg or booty day at the gym.’

Russell, a student at Auburn University in Alabama, admitted that she thought it was ‘weird’ that Levine would strike up a conversation with her, but said she felt compelled to continue chatting to see how far he would go
‘He said he found me from his Discover Page on Instagram because he is “big into fitness” and I have a fitness account. I knew it was weird so I wanted to keep it going to see if it got worse.’
‘When I told him he was going to get caught DMing girls like me he stopped texting me.’
Russell, who was 20 at the time, said Levine never messaged her again after that, but continued to look at her story posts.
‘I think this is the true meaning of disrespect towards a woman. It makes me very sad that he is married and does this immature thing,’ she said.
Russell added that she found it particularly strange that he said he spotted her on Instagram Explore feed, ‘considering his age and [that] he’s married.’
‘I wonder what his [feed] looks like… all young women? Very odd to me,’ she said.
Levine was spotted keeping a firm grip on pregnant wife Behati Prinsloo in Montecito Wednesday, two days after he was accused of having an affair with a 23-year-old model
This is the second time the couple, who are expecting their third child, have been seen in public together since Levine was accused of having an affair and chatting up multiple other women
The Maroon 5 lead singer admitted he was ‘inappropriate’ and used ‘poor judgment’ but denied having an affair in a statement on Tuesday
The two appear to be sticking by each other’s side in light of the allegations
Despite the scandal, Behati, 34, was seen beaming as she stepped out with her husband in Montecito
At one point, the couple appeared to be in high spirits and playful as they got into their car
Levine has claimed he has addressed his inappropriate behavior with his family and that his only focus is his wife and kids
Russell now joins the four women who have publicly come forward with claims that Levine sent flirtatious and sometimes inappropriate messages, despite being married to wife Behati Prinsloo since 2014.
The two were seen presenting a united front in spite of the cheating allegations while stepping out in Montecito on Wednesday.
Levine was seen keeping a firm grip on his wife of eight years, who appeared cheerful and in good spirits amid the drama.
The shocking cheating scandal blew up after 23-year-old model Sumner Stroh shared a now viral TikTok video on Monday claiming she had an affair with the singer in 2021 that lasted ‘about a year.’
Stroh shared screenshots of their flirty exchanges on Instagram, including one bizarre message from June where Levine asked if he could name the unborn baby after her.
The allegations emerged just four days after his supermodel wife Behati Prinsloo, 34, confirmed she is pregnant with the couple’s third child.
In a statement addressing the rumors Tuesday, Levine admitted he ‘crossed the line’ and was ‘inappropriate’ with another woman, but seemed to imply that the relationship was not physical.

In a TikTok posted on Monday, Stroh shared screenshots of their flirty exchanges on Instagram, including one where the singer admitted he was mind blown by how ‘hot’ she was after they met for the first time
Stroh claimed the two lost contact after a few months, but said Levine later came back into her life this year when he revealed his wife was expecting their third child and asked if he could name the child Sumner, leaving her horrified
‘I used poor judgment in speaking with anyone other than my wife in ANY kind of flirtatious manner,’ he said.
‘I did not have an affair, nevertheless, I crossed the line during a regrettable period of my life. In certain instances it became inappropriate. I have addressed that and taken proactive steps to remedy this with my family.’
He continued: ‘My wife and my family is all I care about in this world. To be this naïve and stupid enough to risk the only thing that truly matters to me was the greatest mistake I could ever make. I will never make it again.
‘I take full responsibility. We will get through it and we will get through it together.’
The statement, however, appeared to contradict Stroh’s claims in her TikTok video which included a flirty message exchange that suggested the two had met in person at least once.
The bombshell allegations have since resulted in several more women coming forward with claims of similar interactions with Levine.
On Tuesday, comedian Maryka and a woman named Alyson Rose also posted screenshots of their alleged Instagram conversations with the Maroon 5 lead singer.
In a series of Instagram stories captioned, ‘#ExposeAdamLevine,’ on Tuesday, Maryka shared messages that showed Levine allegedly encouraging flirty and raunchy banter with the woman, sending her a private video selfie, and complimenting her voluptuous figure.
Their conversations also appeared to have turned X-rated, according to additional screenshots shared with influencer Dana Omari, who posted them on her account on Maryka’s behalf.
In a statement posted on his Instagram account Tuesday, the lead singer of Maroon 5 said he had used ‘poor judgment’ and had been ‘inappropriate’ by speaking to another woman in an flirtatious manner, but denied having an affair
Stroh took to Instagram to pour scorn on the Maroon 5 frontman’s comments on Tuesday, sharing a brief but withering post reading: ‘Someone get this man a dictionary,’ referring to his claims that they did not have an affair
Although the context of the messages are unclear, some of the exchanges appear to have timestamps from July this year, when Levine would have marked his eighth wedding anniversary with pregnant wife Behati Prinsloo.
In one alleged conversation, he tells the woman: ‘I’m now obsessed with you’.
When Maryka replies: ‘Dude aren’t you like married lol’, Levine admits he is but says ‘it’s a bit complicated.’
He then makes a tongue-in-cheek remark: ‘Stuff gets hard and the vid thing didn’t help. I might get away’.
Another screenshot shows Levine firing off a series of messages leching over the woman’s ‘hourglass figure’, saying: ‘Holy f**king f**k. That body of yours is absurd.’
At one point after receiving a private photo from Maryka that cannot be seen in the screengrabs, he encourages her to send more, saying: ‘I may need to see the booty.’
Comedian Maryka (left) and a woman named Alyson Rose (right) also shared screenshots of their alleged conversations with Levine shortly after LA-based model Sumner Stroh revealed she had ‘an affair’ with him last year
In one undated, alleged exchange with Maryka, the musician tells her to ‘Distract yourself by f**king with me
In a now viral TikTok video , Alyson Rose also shared screengrabs of Levine’s alleged messages to her, including one in which he said: ‘I shouldn’t be talking to you you know [that] right?’
In a now deleted viral TikTok video, Alyson Rose also shared screengrabs of Levine’s alleged messages to her, including one in which he said: ‘I shouldn’t be talking to you you know [that] right?’
Rose claimed there was ‘a lot more that was said that was not appropriate. I just didn’t feel comfortable posting everything.’
Stroh later hit back at the pop-rock band’s lead singer after Levine denied they had an affair and appeared to imply their relationship was merely ‘flirtatious’.
She took to Instagram to pour scorn his comments later on Tuesday, sharing a brief but withering post reading: ‘Someone get this man a dictionary,’ likely referring to the definition of the word ‘affair.’
