Watch: Eva Mendes Makes Rare Love Confession for Ryan Gosling
The ‘Ghost Rider’ actress talks candidly about how her relationship with the ‘La La Land’ actor changed her perspective on motherhood while stopping by the CBS daytime talk show.
AceShowbiz –Eva Mendes might never have had any child had it not been with Ryan Gosling. The 45-year-old actress made rare love confession for her longtime partner and her kids’ father, and revealed how falling in love with the 38-year-old actor changed her perspective on motherhood while stopping by CBS’ daytime talk show “The Talk” on Monday, May 20.
Admitting that she never planned to have kids, the “Last Night” star said, “It took a minute. But yeah, I was just never one of those women who really wanted children and then I fell in love with Ryan,” and it changed her mind. She added, “Then, I was like, ‘Oh, I get it, I don’t want children, I want your children. I want your babies.’ “
Eva, who was born to Cuban parents, also talked about their struggle to teach their daughters Spanish. “Well, the Spanish in my home … I’m Cuban and we’re trying to teach the kids Spanish, and it’s harder than I thought,” she shared. “I speak Spanglish and that’s what they’re picking up. So it’s adorable but it’s technically not a language. It’s Spanglish.”
She gave an example of her children’s broken Spanish, “So our little girl will be like, ‘Mommy, my boca (mouth) hurts because I think something got stuck in my diente (tooth). It’s so cute, but that is not really gonna go great out there.”
Eva and Ryan began dating in 2011 after meeting on the set of “The Place Beyond the Pines“, in which they both starred. They welcomed their first child, Esmeralda, in September 2014 and their second child, also a daughter named Amada, in April 2016.
Eva previously talked about having kids with Ryan in an interview for the April edition of Women’s Health. “[Kids were] the furthest thing from my mind,” she said. “[Then] Ryan Gosling happened. I mean, falling in love with him. Then it made sense for me to have … not kids, but his kids. It was very specific to him.”
