Adele gifts ex-English teacher with £500 tickets to sold-out Hyde Park gig

Adele has given her former English teacher tickets worth £500 to attend her already sold-out concert, according to reports.

The Easy On Me singer was recently left in tears when her old teacher Ms McDonald surprised her at her performance for ITV’s An Audience with Adele.

The star, whose highly-anticipated new album 30 was released earlier this week, was overwhelmed to be reunited with the education professional in emotional scenes on-stage.

They hugged and Adele, 33, sobbed, and following that evening, the singer has reportedly decided to offer Ms McDonald the opportunity to come to her headline show at BST Hyde Park next year.

A source said: “Adele’s reunion with Ms McDonald touched the hearts of everyone who watched, but no one more so than Adele herself.

“After the ITV Audience With her team got Ms McDonald’s number so Adele could reach out again.

“She has now offered her diamond package tickets worth £500 each to her and her family for her BST Hyde Park gigs in London," the source told The Sun's Bizarre column.

The source went on to say that Adele wanted to make sure Ms McDonald and the rest of her family have “the best time ever” at her show.

“She wants nothing more than to treat Ms McDonald,” they added.

OK! has contacted a representative for Adele for comment.

It came after Dame Emma Thompson asked Adele if anyone had inspired her growing up.

The Hello hitmaker instantly referred to her teacher, and shared anecdotes about the years at school.

“She left when I was in year eight, but she got me really into literature, I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously now I write lyrics,” Adele revealed. “But she also did street dance, I was too scared to go in, but like in the canteen they used to do these dances and stuff like that.

“She was so bl**dy cool, so engaging, and she really made us care, and we knew that she cared about us and stuff like that.

“She used to have all these gold bracelets and gold rings.

“She was bl**dy cool and so relatable and likeable, that I really looked forward to my English lessons,” the star added, as Emma then surprised the star by revealing Ms McDonald was actually in the audience.

Adele burst into tears and the old mentor-mentee enjoyed a special moment and a hug on-stage.
